Synthware was founded in 2007 to build a platform for a new kind of sequencer.
The first project was the hardware concept Zyklus Z8. A kind of step sequencer,
but based on motifs instead of simple steps. Those motifs can be modified in real-time
by assigning musical algorithms which work as generator or filter similar as you might
know from audio processing units/plugins in the AU and VST world.
The hardware project has been canceled due to the weak demand, but the idea is still alive.
Based on the innovative concept and the now mature sequencing framework, our aim is
the production of various specialized software step-sequencers.
